Treatment Recommendations

After the Institute team analyzes the results of the patient's comprehensive evaluation, it develops treatment strategies to best manage the illness. This information is then shared with the patient and his/her doctor.

The Institute serves as an adjunct to the patient's referring physician - providing insight into the latest research and treatment techniques.

Treatment Options

Treatment strategies can include:

  • reassurance, alone, when the disease is found to be not imminently dangerous to the patient's health
  • drugs, when appropriate
  • catheter-based valvuloplasty
  • surgery
    • valve repair
    • valve replacement
    • combined coronary and valvular procedures
    • minimally invasive surgery
Case studies provide examples of evaluation, treatment and prognosis of past Institute patients.
