For a quarter of a century, Institute staff, led by Dr. Jeffrey S. Borer, has been in the forefront of research, evaluation and treatment of valvular heart diseases.

Expertise

The current team has been together for more than 20 years, performing research and developing treatment strategies that have resulted in the best possible solutions to heart valve problems.

At the same time, team members maintain full patient care responsibilities, directly providing evaluation, medical and surgical treatment.

The Institute works hand-in-hand with cardiologists and internists, helping them to take advantage of its cutting-edge research and technology.

Services

Institute services include:

• evaluating patients
• synthesizing the data from the patient's history, physical examination and test results
• putting together the pieces of the puzzle
• recommending a course of treatment that can be implemented at the Institute or at any site chosen by the referring physician
• implementing the course of medical and/or surgical treatment
• using patient data to create new knowledge in the field (only with the patient's explicit approval)
